New Cooling Apparel Debuts at the 62nd Annual Sturgis Bike Week Motorcycle Rally

Huntsville, Ala., August 30, 2002 -- Silver Eagle Outfitters, LLC introduced their new line of Cooling Vests, Caps, and Do-Rags on August 3rd at Bike Week in Sturgis, South Dakota.

All of Silver Eagle's products are constructed with a newly unique composite fabric that represents the first real breakthrough in personal cooling technology and improves the performance and endurance of the wearer by reducing the amount of energy wasted cooling the body and battling heat stress. By harnessing the power of evaporation, the fabric actively cools the wearer while helping to maintain core body temperature, provide comfort, enhance performance, and eliminate the hazards of working, playing, and competing in high heat environments.

Since the apparel uses an evaporative process to cool, the effectiveness and duty cycle is influenced by ambient temperature, humidity, and wind speed. Motorcycle riding produces the wind speed over the apparel that enhances its cooling affect, and, if desired, leathers or other windbreakers can be used to control the airflow.

"Heat stress and dehydration are major problems for motorcycle trips in high temperatures," said Nancy Keen of Silver Eagle, "Our products do not just feel cool, they have been shown to reduce heat stress on the body and reduce the loss of body moisture. About half of the people who bought and wore our products at Sturgis came back and purchased more before the end of Bike Week."

Silver Eagle markets women and men's vests in popular sizes, plus baseball-style caps, and Do-Rags. A range of colors and fabrics are available. Vests are easily activated by placing them in the enclosed plastic packaging with about 8-12 ounces of water for five minutes, then wiping the inner lining dry. Caps and Do-Rags are activated by immersing them in water for about three minutes and wringing out excessive moisture. In all the apparel, a central layer of the fabric retains moisture to cool for two to four hours, depending on environment. All products can be purchased direct from www.silvereagleoutfitters.com.

Bill Case, a founder of Silver Eagle Outfitters explained that, "The best designs are often found in nature, and nature has chosen evaporation as the most elegant solution for heat stress. In a sense, nature is endorsing the design of apparel from Silver Eagle Outfitters. We design and monitor the manufacturing of all our products to assure quality at a reasonable price."
